Join Kellie, Rebecca, Shari and Nannette for their CBIE session on Setting Up Students for a Successful and Safe Study Abroad Experience. CBIE2021 is Canada’s international education conference and will take place on 15-19 November 2021. It is a virtual space for international education leaders to gather and learn from one another. Members from coast to coast will share knowledge, experience and new best practices in over 70 virtual interactive sessions.
This session will take an inside look at approaches and strategies to best prepare students for study abroad and set them up for success. The examples came out of CICan Outbound Student Mobility Innovation Projects in the winter of 2021 and were led by teams of experts in the field of outbound student mobility.
From robust risk management strategies that will help keep students and their institutions safe to innovative use of technology providing students with valuable career tips that will help them reflect on the employability skills gained through learning abroad. CBIE session attendees will come away with examples of promising practices and ideas to help create a more comprehensive pre-departure orientation that will be valued by students, institutional leadership and employers.
