Introducing ELM’s newest project: The GSO Innovation Fund – Bridging the gap between international students & employers!
In today’s competitive job market, international mobility is often considered a powerful catalyst for personal and professional growth. The opportunity to study abroad is seen as not only an enriching and diverse experience for students but is often considered a gateway to developing essential employability skills.
But how do we quantify the real impact of studying abroad on future career prospects? This is where this project with GSO Innovation Funding comes into action:
To truly understand the link between international mobility and employability, the voice of employers must be heard. Our mission is to bridge the gap and look for concrete evidence of the value of study abroad experiences from an employer’s perspective. Here, ELM looks towards Canada, partnering with five respected higher education institutions to achieve our goal: Nova Scotia Community College, the Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland, Humber College, Vancouver Community College, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Together, we will initiate a dialogue with employers to learn what skills they truly value, whether these can be acquired through mobility, and how students can effectively communicate their international experiences.
As ELM, we are excited to be part of the GSO Innovation Fund’s mission to create a positive impact on the careers of countless young Canadian graduates!
